Day 3: Chilling At Lakeside Knysna

Today is Sunday and we’re taking a day off my Walk 4 SOS Huskies journey. The Fossil says I need a rest. No idea why. After all, we’re walking not running, so what’s the big deal?

Anyway, our hosts Andre and Laurette Botha, the pet loving owners of Lakeside Accommodation Knysna, are really nice people. And the Heron Suite that we’re staying in is really comfortable.

I don’t sleep on the bed of course, that’s for the Fossil (aka Desmond – my foster Dad). And that’s OK ’cause I prefer sleeping on the cool floor tiles or outside on the wooden deck with my blanket for comfort. Sheesh, us dogs are so easy to please!

There’s a great view of the Knysna lagoon from the deck. And great smells that drift across from it (not that you would smell anything – only us dogs can).

According to the Fossil, who knows more about human hospitality than I do, the self-catering open plan suite sleeps three people, while the timber construction keeps the room warm in winter and cool in summer. There’s a kitchenette and en-suite bathroom with shower.

Amenities include complimentary WiFi and coffee/tea and the kitchenette is fully equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. There’s also a colour television somewhere but we never had time to watch movies.

So, we mostly chilled out today (well, I did while Des worked on his iMac) and this afternoon we walked around the Waterfront for a while but it was very quite.

Tomorrow we’ll be walking along the beach from Buffels Bay to Sedgefield. If you happen to see us, come over and say “Howzit Husky Boy!” (and “Fossil Man” if you want).

JAXX

PS. That extra X on the end of my name is supposed to be a kiss (yeah, I know it’s soppy).
