This morning (Saturday) we woke up early at our overnight spot in the Mahindra PIKUP at Grotto Beach picnic site. Them we drove to Hermanus and the Fossil asked the owner of Cafe Blu if he can set up his iMac for me to catch up on my blog posts.
We had to wait for the mobile phone repair shop to finish fixing his Samsung phone, so we used the time constructively. And guess what? The owner of Cafe Blu, Ilse Marie (that’s her holding my leash in the pic below), wouldn’t let the Fossil pay for the coffee and toasted sandwich he had (and I had – the bacon from his sandwich, I mean).

So, the Fossil finally got his phone back from the repair guy (they had to replace the charging port ’cause it got damaged when we walked in the rain during our Wilderness to George trip). It only cost R450 to repair and the Fossil had just enough to pay for it. Anyway, we’re at least now able to continue taking pics of our Walk 4 SOS Huskies journey!
From there we headed back to our picnic site spot at Grotto Beach ’cause we still don’t have anyone willing to host us overnight.
We took a long walk along Grotto Beach and then walked past of the “Kuspad Natuurreservaat” (Coastal Nature Reserve Path), but that’s a story for tomorrow’s post.
Oh yeah, the Fossil asked the restaurant manager at Dutchies (which is in front of the picnic site where we’re overnighting) if we can set-up his iMac and she agreed, Then the owner of Dutchies popped-in and offered the Fossil dinner on the house! We had fish ‘n Chips and we both enjoyed it!

BTW: if you happen to be anywhere along our walking route between Plettenberg Bay and Cape Town during late July to mid-August 2021, look out for us. We’ll be walking along the beach (or not), or on a hiking trail (unlikely), or along the side of a town road (most likely) – but definitely not along the N2 motorway!
