Join Us.

The walkathons will be launched simultaneously with single-day and multi-day/stage events spread over the month of September and culminating in official launch ceremonies on the 27th.

You can play a part in helping our 40 host country steering committees to plan their events between January to June as we aim to open public registration to participate, either physically or virtually, from July 2021.

OUR FIRST VIRTUAL WALKATHON IS NOW LIVE!

Put your exercise monitoring device to good use by joining our Virtual Walkathon event in support of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA. See how your walk, run, ride, or gym workouts rank on the event leaderboard. This virtual event runs for three months (July to September) and the top ten leaders will be awarded accommodation or restaurant vouchers.

All country information, routes, and dates will be shared with members within this community. Here you can connect with likeminded members, share information, send friends request, and have private live chats just like Facebook.

The first step to join the community is by registering. You’ll need to create a username, password, and a brief bio description about yourself.

You’ll then need to click on the sent confirmation email and login.

Once that’s done, you can update your profile by adding a head-and-shoulder pic of yourself along with a header image that defines what your passions are. This step is important, after all, this is a community and we like to know who our friends are, what they look like, and what drives them.

By default when registering, you will join the International Group but you can also join as many Country Groups as you want. These country groups are closed circles where members communicate about issues that impact their country specifically. Ideally, you should be a resident or citizen of that country, but it’s not a requirement.

To come back to your profile and engage with the community at any time, simply click on the menu icon (top right section of the home page) and select ‘Login’ from the drop-down under ‘Community’.
